Do you ever wish there was a simple system by which you could figure out what you really want in life, figure out what you need to do to get what you want and then find the right people to be around to achieve what you want in life?

Discovery Learning is that simple system and through individuals who are certified, they will help you as a business, as a school, as a community based organization and/or as an individual to discover what you really want and learn how to do what needs to be done to get what we want in life.

The following lessons often are best done in order, but if you and your certified consultant feel that it’s best to do a different order please feel free to do so.

Discovering what we really want makes all the difference in the world. What’s really tricky is that what we think we want and what we really want can be very different.

What we want on the short term verses the long term can be very different as well. Often we get what we think we want in the short term only to be unhappy with what that short term “want” gives us in the long term.

Am I sure . . . what I think I want . . . is really truly want?

This is so very important that we ask ourselves this question! Why? Hopefully we all have been trained or have come to the realization that if I want something, I need to THINK about what action I need to take to get what I want. We then need to SEE things that need to be done to achieve what I want and then I must DO . . . I must take action to achieve what I want.

THINK ~ SEE and DO are the foundation for DNA for LIFE, which are Natural Laws which govern all areas of life. If we aren’t getting what we want in life . . . it is because we either do not know the Natural Laws which will give us what we want . . . OR . . . we are not following those natural laws.

Obviously . . . a smart person will THINK about the work required to achieve what they want in life . . . before they do the work. If we do the work . . . get what we think we want, but really didn’t want what we thought we wanted . . . well . . . then we’ve wasted energy and a part of our life. A life . . . OUR Life . . . even a little part of our life wasted is a terrible thing and we want to avoid wasting our lives.

Let’s invest a little time with this lesson to make sure that we are really sure of what we want.

The secret success is to learn to take personal ownership even for things that few others would. In the world, in which we live, it seems that we are lead to believe that our failure is due to someone other than ourselves. What’s sad . . . is that this type of thinking is what leads to even greater failure in the future and a pattern of thinking that leads to even grater failure.

Dimensional Thinking also applies to “Taking Personal Ownership.” Many people have a hard time taking personal ownership for their own choices. Imagine . . . having the mental toughness and the abilities and discipline to learn how to take personal ownership for things that most people believe our outside their control.

When we blame someone else . . . for anything . . . we give control for our success to someone else. This will not work out well for us.

Entitlement?

I’m not ENTITLED . . . and I’m not a drama king or queen! 🙂

This is very exciting for us to know this about ourselves. Now that we have the statement of fact out of the way . . . maybe we are entitled and maybe we are a drama queen or king . . . and maybe that’s not always bad?

Discovery Learning is all about learning to Think Differently Quickly (TDQ) which will enable us to set higher dreams and goals and work in a more effective way to get “What I Really Want” . . . faster. 🙂

Entitlement has a lot of negative connotations and most people don’t give entitlement a lot of thought. Let’s say there is good and bad entitlement . . . or should we say entitlement is bad and good expectations are . . . well good. 🙂

When we make good choices in life . . . we have expectations or feel we are entitled to good consequences. If we SEE what we believe to be others who are making bad choices . . . and their lives seem to be turning out better than our life . . . we will tend to cut corners and make those same types of bad choices.

Bad entitlement is where we expect others (individuals or groups) to give us something even though we have not worked to earn that / achieve that. This type of thinking . . . will not serve people well . . . it will create someone being enslaved.
